OLDBOY - the movie

Dae Su Oh:
"Laugh and the world laughs with you,
weep and you weep alone."

I stumble onto the movie OLDBOY by Chan-wook Park this very late evening, in fact it is very late for me to be able to see everything clearly now after finish the piece. It is so strikingly amazing in a very disturbing disgusting way.

To be upfront usually I don't like to watch movie that is bloody and extreme violent, as well I don't like to see vivid - very real acting sex scene; but under the spell of Chan-wook Park makes part of me to go through all it and to answer the question it was raised to be stupid to me: "Why on Earth this man got locked up for a long long time for 15 years...and then release...?!"

You would never ever stop gripping your shirt, or blanket (in my case) or anything nearby just to give a hold of what going on in the movie. As a viewer you will keep asking question and trying to feed it with what you see and receive information as the director giving you; it is not any individual character in the movie but a whole wheel of psychology, and yet in moments of it you will feel the sympathy - the trigger to your owe memory and experiences. It brought you to the point of loving the characters - even though he is the beast but not so much cause in a way you feel like he deserve it.

In regular drama, there will be and always be a bad and a good guy; I advice you not to watch this movie if you really into those kind and can't except a real-life on a screen. Life is not pink, and
so we all know it; the beauty is not to be pretty - but to be real...if you can't enjoy life as it is, you won't enjoy this movie. What makes us human is that we can cry and face the bad, that is us - no ever near to be perfect; and for some do things different then others, then to live with it and go through it. Yet it is a happy ending for OLDBOY but without all he had been through, he was just an annoying - talkative drunk guy.

This is a relatively old movie (2003) but I'm appreciated that I watched now not right after it released - I would have been flipped out and don't get any point of it...besides judging it as brutal and a sick movie.

Again I don't know much about movie, I just want to share my thought on this very very brilliant movie. Any point I raised in here - if yet not true, please let's me know.

Chan-wook Park, thank you for your work!

Humble

I was never thought I can be humble, not that I'm now but that I'm trying to be. I have many times heard people say it's hard to understand me with the way I talk, no beginning - no end; as well with my writing. I won't deny it but I won't feel it as ashame, it is something very me.

I wonder what is the concept or standard to be "Crazy"; is it because you think differently makes you a crazy person? Mental illness involving with thought of killing themselves and others? I don't event know where I'm going with this, will anyone ever read it. What's wrong with the traditional diary, now you want everyone knows what you think even those thoughts are not really anything interesting to the world but it is matter to you. Why have to show people when you are not ready, and do people care about what you write or they just looking for someone has the idea that is similar to them so they can agree and say it's cool to see another human being think the same what they are thinking. If there is no different then what makes all of things we are seeing and living in right now? Not to mention if some idea is different then yours, you neither say bad about it or even so attack the person. The mean of discussion is missing in our conversation, it is not something is right or wrong because who know what on earth is right or wrong. We created our own comfort zone and would love to stay within it, the society taught us to be a "good kid" not an innovative kid. I would love to look back after like 100 years and see how this all work out.

And if you have time, please watch the Documentary Babies and the movie Seraphine.

Human Voice

This is the second time I heard about our voice being noise in today's society, and interestingly enough both time I heard it from a man from older generation; first was my instructor Roland Young, second is in this video:

New Experiment on outlook

To begin with, let's me explain some of the info:

I'm a down to Earth person, my color scheme usually Warm Yellow, Tinted Gray or Ultramarine Dark Red with some Black and White. My dress code is simple and rarely put on make up - since I have so many things going in 1 day and get exhausted by the time of 11pm (not to mention finish assignment in Art School takes hours and hours; can't remember the formula of making the right color, just have to play around until it's right). I dress up a bit if there is Presentation or Year End Party, or important event; but still pretty plain and bold: eye liner and a layer of foundation with powder on top, add in some wax to the hair so I'm done.

So that is me on daily basis, so I was wondering to put on a new look - it'll hurt no one beside my facial skin as experiment. So I decided to really dress up like I never did before to a party in SF: Pink Party; I choose this event cause not a lot of people will care about my look anyway in a huge dance floor, if I fail - oh well: Who's care?! And I decided to put Squash Acrylic Paint on my face (not sure it's the best choice yet); plus a crazy hair with I couldn't feel it's my hair anymore; last thing, I have to admit fashionable clothes that match the look always not the most comfortable as well protect from the wind of Castro st.

And this is my look after the trial, of course to professional level I'm just a dust; but I'm proud of my product: on my face!
